We saw the live show last month and... it was something. It's priced like full-priced adult theatre, but the show is exactly two episodes long, no intermission. For our midwestern family of five, plus a visiting grandmother, that was over $300 in tickets for a 45-minute show. On the other hand, two of my three absolutely loved it, so it's up to you if you think it's worth it or not.

My family saw the live show earlier this year and while the show itself was great and my youngest did enjoy it, at the end they turn on some bubble machines and throw some keepy uppy balloons into the crowd, but this is just for the first couple rows and he was *very* upset that he couldn't do any of that from up in our balcony seats

My kid got pegged in the face by a keepy uppy balloon so was also very upset 😅

We love Bluey in our house, but not sure this would satisfy my 8 year old. Thank you for your review and have a nice break!

How is the Trolls game, Patrick? My 3yo has been into Trolls stuff since we watched it a couple weeks ago.

Awful. Avoid.

What did you want for your kids to get out of the game that didn't happen?

From the trailer I can see how simple it looks. It reminds me of 90s/00s Magic School Bus/Putt Putt-type games where screens have all sorts of stuff to click on to make noises or uncover secrets. That design wasn't breaking the mold, but it entertained me for a long time, plus the super basic mini-games and puzzles.

I also think it's fascinating to compare the price point/entertainment value of this to the adult indie video game scene, where I think you and the Remap crew would heartily endorse shorter games of quality, even if pricier.

That said, obviously this doesn't look like it has the "quality" factor. But if the kids play it a few times through, maybe it's doing its job, like the play place. 🤔

Disappointing the game is so shallow. My four year old is home sick today and I was considering buying it to keep her busy (the medicine kicked in and she really wants to play while I work). But $40 is a lot to ask for a kids game with little replayability.

However, our family did go to the Chicago Theater to see the Bluey play last year and we loved it. The story definitely isn't as focused as the short animated episodes, but a lot of the love of childhood (and the great Bluey soundtrack) is intact. Puppets are great too. Would recommend.

Ah interesting. My two are ageing out of Bluey slightly (which makes me want to cry thinking about it!) but if I put it on in the background they’ll inevitably be drawn into it. I was wondering what the game would be like.

Glad you all had fun with it, even if it was a disappointment!

We'll probably have a similar experience, but I'm getting it from Gamefly, so if we bang it out in a weekend, I won't be too sad about it. I know we'll have a good time even if the gameplay is just okay. We did catch the Bluey play back in May and it is absolutely worth it. Lots of smiles and tears. The merch booth is gonna get you, just let it happen.
