Oh I'm SO much more excited now. My daughter is psyched up big time about Astro Bot in a few days, but I think this Zelda game might be a special moment. I'm gonna take her outta school for this one (It's a Friday, she won't miss much... probably) and take PTO and we're gonna create some solid core memories. Thanks for sharing!!
This read made me even more excited than I already am to play Echoes. The kid friendly without talking down to its audience is on point, I would say the Zelda games are the best entry points for kids or adults getting into gaming for these reasons. Its accessible, fun, and captivating
Totally agree. This one, in particular, feels like it's squared up for knowing a younger audience, especially young girls, might be interested in this. So it doesn't go as far as a Princess Peach: Showtime...it's straddling a different line, I think.
My 7 y/o niece is over the moon about this game and Astro Bot, and her dad has been trying to pick one for her birthday. Thanks for sharing your impressions and your kids’ excitement. Looking forward to your Astro Bot post; thanks for all your hard work!
In your 90 minutes with Echoes, does it feel like it has a more linear storyline, or did it feel as potentially multi-directional like Tears and Breath?
Nintendo called the map variations of "big" and "huge," but did not get into its structure. I am, however, anticipating a middle ground, where players have several options but not EVERY option available to them.
So glad to hear positive early signs, and also happy to hear Nintendo's posture is one where this stands tall rather than is sidelined.
And no excuse needed for shoddy blurring; hearing the enthusiasm of kids playing this is very informative, and their privacy comes first. 👍
I need to get better at using the blur apps lol

Thanks for your reply! I'm excited either way. Just wish I had as much free time as I did when BOTW came out 😅
Same. This is broadly why I fell off TotK. I'm guessing this game will be shorter.
