Three Dads, a Garage, and Tears of the Kingdom
What happens when the Sunday football ritual meets Zelda—but there’s no football.
One of my favorite Sunday rituals in late summer and early fall is hanging out in a garage while football games hum in the background. In my neighborhood, we have several families with kids that regularly play with one another, and the parents are friends, too. There are also plenty of neighbors, some with kids and some without, who like to stop by and say hello. There’s something about an open garage, especially one with a TV and chairs and people hooting and hollering, that feels welcoming. And usually, it welcomes you into a space with beer and grumbling Chicago Bears fans.
